Today is finally that day that doesn't even exist when you start traveling, creeps up about midway through, absolutely dreaded the day before, and then ultimately despised the day of. I don't think we could have asked for a better send off though because Tere made us chilaquiles!! Easily my new favorite breakfast or snack item.

We had a bit of time before the flight so we checked out the local big mall and found a few things of interest. Back at the house everyone came home for lunch and we had mole! Was delish as always.

Since only Tere and Rodrigo were taking us to the airport we said goodbye to Gil and Santi at the house after lunch. When we got to the airport we made our final goodbyes and headed in where we were met with about 5 words of English the entire check in. Luckily I knew enough to get us through and on the right plane so thank you 7th grade Spanish all the way to Intermediate Spanish II in college! And with that I was on my way back to the States where routine and mundane and ordinary American life would resume.
So what do you say about a trip such as this? To say I had an amazing time would be an understatement. To say I was more than grateful for the Casillas's hospitality would be an understatement. But regardless, THANK YOU Tere, Gil, Rodrigo, and Santi for allowing us into your home and sharing your family and culture with us. It was honor to be welcomed in such an amazing way and to be included as part of your family. Please know that you will always be a part of mine, no matter how much distance or time is between us. All of yall are welcome at whatever place I may currently be calling my home.
Each time I have been to Mexico I have had the exact same overall experiences. Colorful culture, great friendships, new bonds, adventures and a wealth of new experiences, eye openers, family, food, and most important of all living life to the fullest. If you find that you aren't doing that or don't feel that you are, an adventure of sorts is MUCH in order. My release and return to life is friendship and travel.
